Serving and married Nigerian Corps member who was expecting his first child dies in Peace Mass transit accident just few weeks to POP

A NYSC member who was serving in Enugu has died in an autocrash as he boarded Peace Mass bus from Enugu to Abia state where he hailed from.
The deceased who was the only son of his aging mom left behind also a 20 year old wife and a soon-to-be-born first child.
Chima Jones Onwere died on 4th December in an autocrash and left his many friends, family members and admirers in pains. learnt that he was a graduate of Babcock university and his last Facebook update was on 2nd December 2017 as he went to church.
Lots of condolences have been pouring in from his friends on Facebook, all of which attest to his loving nature. Some of them are captured here including that of his widowed and pregnant wife who is expecting her baby, Success Dirichi

Late Jones Onwere Chima was among the corp members that will pass out next from NYSC.

Update: Speaking with about the cause of the accident that led to the death of Chima Jones Onwere, Peace Mass Transit has revealed that the accident was not the fault of their driver. According to the exclusive interview with GistGate, the management explained that a truck wrongfully entered the lane of the PMT bus and collided with the PMT bus.
More investigation is being carried out by Anaturuchi Iroapali of GistGate to know what measures PMT has in place to avoid incessant road accidents that have been bedeviling their transport company.

Why Corp Members Have Not Been Paid October 2017 Allowances - NYSC

There is currently a national outcry by the 2016 batch B corp members (copas) and the 2017 batch  A corp members as their federal allowances are yet to be paid for the month of October 2017. Also the Batch B corp members of stream 1 who passed out of service on 2nd November have not been paid their terminal allowances (double allowee).

IMSU Graduate who was serving in NYSC killed by robbers over iPhone

Information reaching has it that late Martins Ekene was yesterday, 16th October, 2017 gunned down by robbers at Amawire, Orji road in Owerri Imo State when they attempted to rob him of his iPhone device but he resisted them.
Martins graduated from History and International Studies department in Imo State University and was still serving his fatherland before the sad incident. May his soul rest well.

This is not the first time hoodlums are killing young students or graduates of the school during robbery operations. The public is thereby advised to comply with armed persons when they demand for your valuables. Don't argue with a gun. Life is precious than gold.

Serving NYSC member drowns in flood

According to information reaching, the young graduate, Nathan Shuaibu,  who was serving in Jigawa state drowned in a flood at his hometown in Gombe state.
He was serving in Kiyawa Jigawa state.

NYSC loses 5 members in Sokoto state-Cordinator

The Sokoto State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Mr Thomas Yamma, on Thursday, said five members of the corps under the 2015 Batch B, Stream one, died within the service year. He made the disclosure in Sokoto at the Passing Out ceremony of the batch. He said that the five were among the 2,112 NYSC members posted to Sokoto State and that the deaths were as a result of natural causes. The Imo state university, Owerri has now pasted the 2014 NYSC Batch C at the department of students affairs.
The current lists show the states where the prospective corp members have been posted to.
Some people were seen with sad faces because they we'd posted to the North. Who wouldn't feel sad.
All those who are concerned with this should take note.


Imo State University prospective corp members today crowded the Students Affairs department as they eagerly awaited to see the NYSC Batch C deployment list.
It can be recalled that the 2014 IMSU NYSC Batch C lists for those who registered for November posting were pasted last 2 weeks and last week.
However, by midweek this week, a list of those whose names were omitted due to mistakes or due to the fact that they did not do the online registration was posted also at the student affairs department.

Report gotten from one of the prospective corp members has it that those who did their Registration online and paid 4,000 Naira were communicated about their place of posting through mobile means.
The same student later related that they deployment list was not posted as usual on the notice board but that the place of posting was communicated on a personal basis.

The main gist is that the posting of IMSU Batch C National Youth Corp Members have commenced. All those who are yet to know their deployment states should head over to Imo state university Student Affairs Department by Monday to be put up to speed.

Last week, the National Youth Service Corps list for those who will be going for 2014/2015 Batch C posting in IMSU was released. That of last week was for the names of only those who did their registration online.
Yesterday, 21st Oct, the lists of those who didn't register online were released also. The photos show prospective corp members thronging around the notice board  beside the IMSU front gate security office to check their names.

The department of students affairs of the Imo state university today released a list of students who have been shortlisted for the 2014 NYSC "Batch C" posting.
It should be however noted that the released list is for "Those who registered online" and more lists will be posted soon (on or before 20th of October, 2014 according to announcement by staff).

For those who don't know yet, the 2014 NYSC batch B deployment lists for Imo state university are out. You can locate the lists at the front of the office  of the dean of student's affairs.

I observed that some students  were still posted to northern states like Adamawa, Sokoto, Benue, Niger, Kaduna and so on even with the current security situation.

If you are far away  and need us  to help you check for your name, you can contact us. No fees.

Here are important notices on callup letters and camping as posted at the office of the dean student affairs.

★ For those reporting to camp on August,  closure of camp will be on 6th of August, hence the deadline for collection of your callup letter is 6th of August by  the end of work day.  No extensions.
★  For those reporting to camp on September,  the final day for the collection of call letter will be on 3rd September as camp will also close at Midnight same day.

Serve conscientiously and make us proud wherever you find yourself. OK?
