The people of Alatia community, a rural community in Ngor Okpala LGA in Imo state are crying out over total neglect by the government.
Guest Article:

The biblical Jews in exile, held captive by the Babylonians, sat and wept by the Rivers of Babylon because of the apparent torment brought on them by their captors. Unlike the biblical Jews, but worse, the people of Alatia Autonomous Community in Ngor Okpala LGA are in captive in their own land, held captive by the modern day Babylon – bad leadership; or how else can we describe a community lacking electricity, water supply, roads, health care, security and other things that should be accessible to a “free born”; even prisoners have access to some of these amenities.

He said the students show high enthusiasm and passion for the language but most patents see speaking big grammar as a means of showing they are affluent  and this usually affect their children negatively.
Mazi Ifesinachi added that the Oluigbo competition that held at Calvary school was amazing as the participants in the debate Igbo throughout without any use of English interjections. He noted that that was s test run and the competition will be taken to other schools soon.
"I must say that Igbo language is not dead.  Those who say that are just exaggerating. However what we need to do is to keep arousing the people to keep speaking and writing in Igbo"
