Reception of President Buhari at Germany G7 trip

 President Buhari went to Munich, Germany today where he attended the G7 meeting alongside other world leaders. This year, countries that a battling with extremist insurgents were invited and so President Buhari was there too. Here are some pictures of his reception from the airport.

How much President Buhari will be paid a month

Wondering how much President Muhammadu Buhari will be receiving monthly as salary? According to the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission, President Buhari will earn a monthly salary of N3, 514, 705. He is also entitled to a regular hardship allowance and 50 per cent of the basic salary, which is N1,757,350.50.
However, according to news the President is making moves to slash his salary and that of his cabinet members. It should also be noted that he has chosen to work with 15 special assistants against 25 used by former  President Goodluck Jonathan.

Why President Buhari has not made assets public

Aides of President Muhammadu Buhari, last Sunday, explained why the president has not declared his assets publicly. They said he will make his assets known to Nigerians within the first 100 days of his stay in power in line with his assertions before the election.
Meanwhile, there were mixed reactions, on the report that the president and Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo had submitted their assets declaration to the Code of Conduct Bureau without immediately making them public.
A civil rights group, Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project, SERAP, argued that it was imperative for the duo to make public their assets. It said the action will indicate “their desire and commitment to ending corruption in the country.”

Why President Buhari has not packed into presidential villa

Three days after the swearing in of President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria, he is yet to move into the presidential villa in Abuja. When newsmen sought reasons for this, the spokesman of the president said the house is still being put in order. The head of President Muhammadu Buhari’s media team, Garba Shehu, on Sunday said Buhari had yet to move to the Presidential Villa, Abuja because his official residence was not ready for habitation.

 Here is the inaugural speech by His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari following his swearing-in as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on 29th May, 2015.

"I am immensely grateful to God Who Has preserved us to witness this day and this occasion. Today marks a triumph for Nigeria and an occasion to celebrate her freedom and cherish her democracy. Nigerians have shown their commitment to democracy and are determined to entrench its culture. Our journey has not been easy but thanks to the determination of our people and strong support from friends abroad we have today a truly democratically elected government in place.

PDP says Buhari embarrassed Nigerians and is causing fuel scarcity

The Peoples Democratic Party has attacked  the President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari again saying that he is boycotting the May 29, 2015 handover programme lined up by the Federal Government. PDP have also blasted Buhari for his visit to UK on Friday, saying he made an embarrassing outing because the UK Prime minister kept him waiting. The statement by Olisa Metuh also has it that Buhari may be sabotaging the oil sector...

Buhari rejected Rolls Royce ride in London

The President-elect General Muhammadu Buhari, paid a private visit to England on Friday and reportedly turned down the use of a Rolls Royce made available for him by the Nigerian High Commission in London.
Buhari was said to shocked officials of the Nigerian High Commission when, on landing at the Heathrow Airport, he declined to make use of  the  Rolls Royce and other facilities offered him saying that he had made private arrangements for his visit.

President Jonathan prevented crisis by accepting defeat- Buhari says

President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, yesterday, said that President Jonathan prevented crisis in Nigeria by conceding defeat in the March 28 election. He made this known when the Nigerien President Issoufou Mahamadou paid him a courtesy visit. The president of Niger also made similar statement when he was received by president Jonathan at the state house in Abuja yesterday
The News Agency of Nigeria reported that Buhari gave the commendation in Abuja on Thursday when he received Nigerien President Issoufou Mahamadou on Thursday. He said Jonathan’s action turned around Nigeria’s nervous political process.

Buhari hangs out with his secondary school classmates

Nigerian President-elect Muhammadu Buhari pictured yesterday in a meeting with his secondary school classmates. Reports indicate that they all got admission into Katsina Middle School in 1953.

"It is a shame"- Buhari expresses disappointment with Nigerian Military

The president-elect of Nigeria, Retired General Muhammadu Buhari has expressed his disappointment with the Nigerian military forces over their inability to secure the Northern states and LGAs where members of the boko haram sect are still unleashing mayhem. He said it is a shame that the Nigerian military cannot secure 14 of the 774 Local Government Areas in Nigeria against the onslaught of deadly boko haram. Buhari made his disappointment known while speaking to members of Arewa Consultative Forum who he received in Kaduna. See his words below...

No more "General" in Buhari's name from May 29

From may 29th 2015 when the president-elect retired Major General Muhammadu Buhari will be sworn in, he will no longer be referred to as General. In a press release the incoming president made it known today that after swearing in the title of General will be dropped from his name. They also released the official portraits for the president-elect and his vice. See the portrait after cut,especially for people who will need to hang their pictures in their offices and work places.
“From May 29, 2015, the President-elect and Vice-President-elect are to be respectively known and addressed as Muhammadu Buhari, President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria and Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, Vice President, Federal Republic of Nigeria" the statement signed by the Directorate of Media and Publicity of Gen Buhari read.

According to a report on Maxnaija, a pastor had joined in the match for President-elect Retired Gen. Muhammadu Buhari. The man, Pastor Hitman Abaye Ozabor, last Saturday started trekking from Benin City to

We will not forgive or forget - Buhari

The President-elect Retired General Muhammadu Buhari has assured that his government will not forgive or forget the actions of those who used violence during the 2015 elections to deny Nigerians their constitutional rights. He also made it known that the reason why he won was because of the introduction of the card reader and PVC. Buhari who spoke, yesterday, when the Rivers state chapter of All Progressives Congress, APC, paid him a congratulatory visit in Abuja.
