Acting President Osinbajo chairs the Fedreal Executive Council Meeting for the first time

Nigeria's  acting President and vice president Yemi Osinbajo is presiding over the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting for the first time in his life today! The FEC meeting holding in Abuja behind closed doors has in attendance almost all ministers of the federation and is holding in absence of president Buhari who is on medical leave.

Osinbajo assumed the position of acting president last Thursday when the President Muhammadu Buhari flew out of the country for a brief vacation in London where he is said to be undergoing medical checkup.

President Buhari is widely criticized in Nigeria for his frequent travels and for not doing checkups and treatments here in the "Giant of Africa". His recent travel has been trailed with a lot of widespread rumours that President Buhari is dead overseas.
However the presidency has debunked the rumours. The vacation will end on February 6th.
